Two welded steel water storage tanks, the 1.8-million-gallon Water Filtration Plant (WFP) Clearwell and the 1.1-million-gallon Southwest Reservoir, are in need of rehabilitation and repairs.
Work on each tank will include surface preparation, coating, removal and replacement of compromised materials, reinstallation of structural and operational components, sealing, and disinfection of tanks upon completion. Both projects require shop drawings, approvals, and preservation of tank identification plates.
Additionally:
- The Clearwell project involves removal and replacement of baffling, repair or replacement of deteriorated steel and rafter supports, recoating of interior and exterior surfaces, resealing of foundations, and coordination with a structural engineer for material assessment.
- The Southwest Reservoir project requires removal of the cathodic protection system, interior rehabilitation, optional exterior recoating, foundation resealing, and disinfection.
